A contemporary variation on a timeless classic, our butcher block island can be an attractive feature in a new kitchen design, or reanimate an existing kitchen. The 4" thick solid top is a grid of end-grain blocks, which makes an excellent food prep surface. Unique to this design, the legs are uninterrupted, becoming part of the top.
Massive mortises and tenons join the rails to the legs at a comfortable footrest height for anyone seated around. A simple, small chamfer eases the edges throughout while retaining a crisp, clean profile.
Finished in food-safe oil & wax that is simple to maintain and refresh when needed.
