The first thing you'll notice when you walk into Patrick's place is a neatly organized collection of Pikolinos on a handsome shoe rack, evenly spaced and containing matching shoe trees. Beyond the shoe rack, you'll find retro posters on the walls, modern art magazines donning the bookshelves, and a collection of souvenirs from his travels. His refined tastes extend to mid-century modern furniture, and when he asked us to design a dining chair for him, this is what we came up with.
Twice-wedged through-tenons affix the tapered legs to the sturdy x-frame, which keeps the visibility of structural elements to a minimum. The generously curved seat and back cushions provide a relaxed, yet upright seating position for lively dinner conversation.
The cushions can be upholstered in a polyester/cotton blend fabric or leather, with or without piping in the seam.
